The extra workshop in May was well supported but numbers were slightly down from usual due to the fact that there is so much going on elsewhere during the summer months. The focus was on colour, and that was very apparent in the finished arrangements which were put on tables for general display at the end of the session.
The June Workshop on ‘S -Shaped Table Arrangements’ has yet to take place as I write, but a good number of people have already signed up.
The next workshop is on Saturday 20th July and the theme is ‘Flowers and Baskets’. For those wishing to do a basket of flowers, either as a gift or for the home, this will be a great opportunity to practise it. For those with more ambition can I suggest that you look at basket work in Lion Talk July-August 2019 page 7general and see if you can use it in a different way in a flower arrangement? Think outside the box or basket in this case.

Workshops are generally held in the middle of a month, every other month.

Examples from the June workshop: Floral Swag
A floral swag is designed to hang against a surface. They are often used as pew ends at weddings.
In Lion Walk Church we use larger versions to decorate our walls at Easter and Harvest Festival.
