Easter Flowers
It was wonderful to decorate the church again for Easter after not being able to do so for the last two years.
For the March Workshop we focussed mainly on upward facing crescent shaped arrangements. We learned how to create these shapes with curved stems, manipulating them between our thumbs and fingers to make them curve even more. The finished arrangements were, as usual, varied and beautiful.
For the Flower Workshop on the 9th April we practised parallel designs where the finished arrangements can resemble a garden and are useful for narrow ledges, a window sill or even used for an Easter garden. There was a beautiful example of this style of arrangement in the Easter flowers on the stairs under the stained glass windows.
The next Workshop is on Saturday 18th June. The theme is still to be decided. Please book your place and details will be sent as soon as they are available.

Examples from the June workshop: Floral Swag
A floral swag is designed to hang against a surface. They are often used as pew ends at weddings.
In Lion Walk Church we use larger versions to decorate our walls at Easter and Harvest Festival.
